| Chair is great as transport to and from toilet and bedroom, as well as being a commode and shower chair. Rolls over the toilet easily and can be sat on as regular transport with the included padded seat. Drop arms add to ease of transfer. The only drawback is what everyone else has posted - the brakes are really VERY difficult to push down to lock and pop up to unlock. Have tried WD40, no luck. |

I live in a two story cabin by a lake, but it only has one bathroom on the main floor. I have a disability that slows me down and I was always worried about accidents. Now much to my relief I can rely on my new commode. I simply partitioned off a part of my bedroom with a folding privacy screen and put the commode behind it. It's just like a master bath.

| I purchased this about 3 months ago and the arm rest/back rest is already broken. This unit gets used about twice a week by a person who weighs far less than the rated capacity of 300 lbs. The snap together construction is easily broken as it is made of a brittle plastic. Big, big disappointment. |

I bought this for my 88-years old mother who has a bad knee. What is great about this product is that I can take it inside her room at night so she would not have to walk a great distance to the restroom and take it back to the restroom for her to use during the day.
During the day, it's just a simple matter of placing this sturdy chair over the commode and voila, there is a raised toilet seat with arms on both sides and 4 legs firmly on the ground. Although I have not bought any other products but I am sure this is a lot more sturdy than installing a separate chair-rail (with only 2 legs) and a raised toilet seat.
The only thing I see as a short-coming for this product is about the removeable back of the chair. It is a separate part and needs to be installed when this product is used as a stand-alone commode. Without it, there will not be a back for the person to fall back on. When you use it over the toilet, you will have to remove the back from the chair if you do not want to remove the existing toilet seat and lid. This back piece of the chair, however, it's a little tough to remove.
I have selected not to install this back piece and when I take it inside her room, I place it against a wall near her bed so she can have a place for her back. In the morning, I just take it back out and place the whole thing over the toilet, with existing seat and lid intact and lifted up.
She's very much happy with this product.

| Although this product has served us very well, the Carex provider has yet to refund the balance for the duplicate purchase. It was refused at delivery as we were instructed, but it has been over 6 weeks and we have yet to see the credit to our credit card purchase. This does not seem to be prompt service. |
